Manage Diagnostics Scans

1. On the Job Overview page, click Scans Available or Calibrations on the Diagnostics card.

2. On the Diagnostics Reports page, click + Diagnostic Report.

   Note: Calibrations and Scans tabs appear if calibrations and scans are available. Use these tabs to view calibrations or scans.

3. In the Select Report(s) to Associate window, click the vehicle you want to add reports to.

   Tip: Use the search feature to locate the vehicle and reports. Enter your search criteria in the search bar and click the search icon .

4. On the Select Report(s) to Associate window, click the check box next to the reports you want to associate.

   Tip:Click the preview icon to preview the scan before you add it to the job.

   

5. Click Add Selected.

6. In the next window, use the Reason for adding list to select why the diagnostic report was added.

7. Click Associate.

   

Edit information on scan reports, including:

• Designation

• RO #: Repair order number.

• Mileage

• Comments

Note: Additional Information fields and Designation cannot be edited for MD-OEM and MD-OE22 scans.

1. Open the desired scan report from the Job Overview page.
2. Select one of the following in the Designation list:

• Pre-Scan: First scan prior to repairs.

• In-Process: Scan performed during the repairs.

• Post-Scan: Scan after repairs are complete.
• Not Available: Any scan which is not designated as a Pre or Post scan.

4. Enter repair order number information in the RO# as needed.
5. Enter vehicle mileage in the Mileage box as needed.
6. Enter additional comments in the Comment box as needed.

   

7. Click Save.

Make your scan reports available to send to the insurance company when you are ready to share the report. Scan reports with this label are sent to the insurance company whenever you click Send to Insurance for the related job. Scans without this label are not sent to the insurance company.

1. Open the desired scan report from the Job Overview page.

   Note: You cannot mark the scan Add to insurance upload if you open the report form the Diagnostic Scan link in the navigation pane. Once the report is shared with the insurance company, it cannot be edited.

2. Add comments or label the scan report as needed.
3. Select the Add to insurance upload check box.

   

4. Click Save to save your changes.
5. Click Send to Insurance on the Job Overview page when complete.

You can download your scan report as a PDF.

1. Open the desired scan report from the Job Overview page.
2. Click Download. Follow the prompts to save the PDF file to a location on your computer.

You can print a copy of the scan report.

1. Open the desired scan report from the Job Overview page.
2. Click Print.

Manually enter or modify odometer mileage on scan reports.

Note: Some scans may be locked if they have already been shared with the insurance company. Locked scans cannot be edited.

1. Click Diagnostics on the navigation pane.
2. Click the vehicle you want to modify on the Diagnostics Scan page.
3. Click the scan you want to modify in the Scans list.

   Tip: You can also access scans for a specific job from the Job Overview page. Click the Diagnostics card, then select the scan on the Diagnostics Reports page.

4. Click Edit next to the Mileage field and enter your changes.

   Tip: If you need to add notes about your change, click Edit next to the Comments field and enter your notes.

5. Click Save.

   

The Scan Reports Pane shows on the right of your scan report. It offers an overview of the scans and provides controls for your report.

Note: Mitchell Diagnostics does not provide definitions for individual codes.

When you open the full report, the Vehicle Scan Information page shows your detailed report.
