View Mitchell Diagnostics Scans and Calibration Reports

View Mitchell Diagnostic Scan reports and Calibration reports directly from Mitchell Connect. You can view reports from the Diagnostics Dashboard page or from individual jobs.

Calibration reports can be shared with the insurance company and the vehicle owner to show the vehicle repaired/replaced modules are calibrated property. Calibration reports are automatically matched with the job using the VIN.

Note: If you need to send the calibration report to the insurance company, download and save the report, then add the report to the job as an attachment.

Mitchell Diagnostics sends an email with a PDF attachment, when you complete a Scan or Calibration report, and the scan tool is connected to the internet:

How to

  1. In Mitchell Connect, click Diagnostics in the navigation pane.
  2. Click View Reports on the chart with the desired report type.

  3. On the Scan Reports page, do any of the following to modify the view (optional):
  • Click Hide Chart to hide the chart.
  • Click to change the chart to a line chart.
  • Click to change the chart to a bar chart.
  1. Scroll through the list of scans. Click the Vehicle, VIN, or Date and Time columns to sort.

    Tip: Search for the scan by Vehicle, VIN, or Date using the search tool at the top of the page.

  2. Click the vehicle to open the completed scans.
  3. If the vehicle has multiple scans, Mitchell Connect displays all scans for the vehicle in the order they were completed. Click the scan to view the full scan report. Click Done to return to the Scans list. Click All Scans to return to the Diagnostics Scans page.

    Note: If you want to make the scan report available to send to the insurance company, open the scan report from the Scan Card on the Job Overview page.

You can access Mitchell Diagnostics scans directly from a related job in the Job Overview page.

  1. On the Job Overview page, click the Diagnostics card. The card shows the number of scans completed.

  2. On the Diagnostics Reports page, scroll through the list of scans.
  1. Click the desired scan to view the full scan report.
  1. Click View Reports on the Calibrations dashboard.

  2. On the Scan Reports page, do any of the following to modify the view (optional):

  6. Click the Calibrations tab. The page shows the date and time, the calibration type, status, and the device used.

  7. Click Print to print the summary or click Download to save as a PDF.

  2. Click the calibration report you want to view. The calibration summary appears.

    Tip: Click the Scans tab on the Diagnostics Reports page if you want to view scans done on the same VIN.

  3. If you want to include the calibration report when use the Send to Insurance feature, click the Add to Insurance Upload check box, and then click Save.

  4. Click Print to print the summary or click Download to save as a PDF.

Send Calibration Reports to insurance company partners from Mitchell Diagnostics.

  1. On the Job Overview page, click Calibrations on the Diagnostics card.

  2. Click the calibration report you want to view. The calibration summary appears.

  3. Click the Add to Insurance Upload check box, and then click Save.

  4. Click Send on the Job Overview page when you are ready to send all of your attachments and estimates on the job to the insurance company.

Reference

The Scan Reports Pane shows on the right of your scan report. It offers an overview of the scans and provides controls for your report.

Name Description
Current DTCs Current unresolved Diagnostics Trouble Codes for the scan.
DTCs Total Diagnostics Trouble Codes for the scan.
Comment Click Edit to add or modify comments. Your comments appear near the top of your Scan Report.
Pre-Scan Click to mark the scan as the first scan prior to repairs.
Post-Scan Click to mark the scan as the final scan after repairs are complete.
Other Click to mark the scan which is not Pre or Post scan.
Add to insurance upload Select this check box to make this scan available to the insurance company when you click Send to Insurance.
Download Download a PDF copy of the scan to save to your computer.
Print Print a copy of your scan.

When you open the full report, the Vehicle Scan Information page shows your detailed report.

Name Description
VIN Vehicle Identification Number.
Comment User entered comments added to the report.
Total Systems Scanned Total number of systems scanned by the device.
Controllers w/ DTCs Systems with Diagnostic Trouble Codes that may need attention.
Unread controllers Systems that were not scanned or could not be read by the device.
Systems w/ No DTCs Systems that returned no Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Current Code Types The number of current Diagnostic Trouble Code types still present/valid in the system.
Other Code Types The number of codes without data from OEM to define the Diagnostic Code Type.
Pending Code Types

The number of code types where a problem was detected but not quite to the threshold to the threshold to state that it is definite.

History Code Types The number of code types shown in the past that may not be resolved, though these codes may no longer be current.

Scan Device Scan device used.
Mileage Vehicle mileage.
Operation Camera and radar calibration.
Calibration Type

Calibration types:

  • Static: Calibrations performed inside the repair facility in a controlled environment with the help of calibration equipment and targets.

  • Dynamic: Calibrations performed on the road with a scan tool (e.g. MD-500). Predefined conditions must be met in the scan tool to successfully calibrate the vehicle.

  • Not Available: When calibration type is not identified during the Calibration operation.
Status Indicates if the calibration is complete.
