Estimating
New Estimate Line Numbers
The Estimate tab in Mitchell Cloud Estimating has been updated to include sequential numbering preceding each repair line, markup/discount line, child line, and explanation line. With this enhancement, you can easily navigate and review the Estimate tab, Estimate PDF, Compliance modal, or reviewers' annotations with ease. When there are additions to the Estimate, the numerical order is automatically updated.
Automated Reconciliation for Assemblies from APU Part Provider
With this release, the manual need for reconciliation of unmatched parts when sending to APU has been greatly automated. When there are unmatched parts, Mitchell Cloud Estimating automatically selects a resolution for you on the Review Parts Update from APU reconciliation window.
The resolution is automatically set to "Match with a related part from the estimate" on the part line along with the primary part auto selected in the Part drop-down. Review the selections and pending changes before selecting the Update Estimate to resolve the issue.
Most of the unmatched parts are reconciled against the primary part on the estimate but when Mitchell Cloud Estimating cannot automatically reconcile a mismatched part, it appears unresolved for that repair line.
Remove Marine and RV Parts from Search Results
Mitchell Cloud Estimating has undergone legacy cleanup of outdated and unsupported parts data for generic marine and RV vehicles this release. As a result, the Search functionality no longer displays parts for these vehicle types on the Search grid. The search box for generic marine and RV estimates only searches templates and reference sheets as a result of this cleanup.
Reconditioned Parts Added from Parts Providers Labeled Remanufactured Parts on the Estimate
In previous releases, reconditioned parts that were added to the Estimate from a Parts Provider (APU, PartsTrader, etc) were grouped in and displayed as a New part type which is incorrect for how the industry uses these parts. Now when alternate parts are sourced, the reconditioned (PAD) parts are labeled as remanufactured (PAM) parts under the Estimate in the Part Type column.
New Template Sub-Categories
Templates in Mitchell Cloud Estimating are currently managed through user created categories. This solution stops becoming efficient when large Templates span multiple lines leading to cumbersome organization and the requirement of workarounds to help distinguish between vehicle lines and categories.
With this release, sub-categories and a text-box for notes have been introduced to the Templates page. Template lines can be even more organized, leading to greater ability to cleanly and quickly search throughout lengthy lists. Sub-categories can be created, organized, and moved beneath a category in either a new or existing template.
When using the Search functionality on the Parts or Split View tabs, the sub-categories display underneath the description of the template line in the search results.
Configure the sub-categories first within Mitchell Connect Settings through the Templates section of the Estimating card. Once saved, they can be accessed in Mitchell Cloud Estimating through MyTemplates on the Parts or Split View tab.

Enhancements to Correction versus Supplement Behavior on a Committed Estimate
In this release, the supplement versus correction logic has been enhanced to follow simplified rules when it comes to modifications and revisions to a previously committed estimate. The logic differentiates between a supplement and correction depending on the type and order of action taken against the Net or Gross Estimate Total.
Tip: Actions are defined as adding, removing, modifying, moving lines in the Vehicle and Insurance pages data or on the estimate that results in a net or gross total monetary amount change.
The updated logic rules are as follows:
-
Supplements are generated if the action changes the Net or Gross Estimate Total.
-
Corrections are generated if the action does not change the Net or Gross Estimate Total.
The table below has some examples of the new logic assignments:
Correction is generated when... | Supplement is generated when... |
Update to contact information on the Insurance page does not impact the estimate totals | Update to the deductible amount resulting in an impact to the Net total |
Updates to an explanation on the Estimate tab which does not impact the estimate totals | Update to labor betterment on existing repair line which impacts the Gross total |
Once the changes are committed, the new estimate version is assigned as a supplement (S#) or correction (C#) which is seen on the Estimate card in Mitchell Connect and throughout the Estimate in Mitchell Cloud Estimating.
Estimate Profile
Alternate Parts Profile Enhancement
The conditions when the alternate parts profiles are used have been aesthetically updated on the Parts tab of the Estimate Profile.
The old sentence format of "Use [part profile] when the vehicle is [less/greater than] [#] years old [and/or] odometer is [less/greater than] [#] miles/km" has been split into a vehicle age and odometer parameters on separate lines.
The "For all other scenarios use this profile" section has been moved to its own area below the vehicle age and odometer parameters. None of the logic has changed, just how the information is shown.
New Ability to Link Compliance Profile in WorkCenter with the Estimate Profile in Mitchell Cloud Estimating
The General tab of the Estimate Profile has been enhanced this release to display the compliance profile that has been assigned to the user by their insurance company. Converting a manual process to an automated one, Mitchell Cloud Estimating users will see the profile name underneath the new Linked Compliance Profile section on the General tab and no longer must manually assign a compliance profile themselves.
To see the profile in the Mitchell Cloud Estimating settings, the insurance company needs to have assigned the Estimate Advisor Profile account to the Estimate Profile in WorkCenter.
Along with that, the insurance company must have selected the desired Compliance Profile from the Linked Compliance Profile drop-down. Once selected, then the Mitchell Cloud Estimating user is automatically assigned that compliance profile when running compliance checks and committing an estimate.
New Repair Breakeven Minimum Threshold Percentage Range
The Breakeven Analysis, also called the Percent of Replacement Calculation, has been enhanced this release. Typically, when the Repair operation and labor involved exceeds the recommendation cost, Mitchell Cloud Estimating recommends switching from the selected Repair to a new Switch to Remove and Replace (R&R) labor operation. If the cost of Repair is cheaper than the cost of part replacement, the analysis recommends to Keep as Repair. In this scenario, you were unable to switch the percentage threshold and it had to be that under 100% the cost of a New part was Repair and over 100% of the cost of a New part was R&R.
With this release, the Repair Breakeven (Percent of Replacement Calculation) on the part details window has been enhanced. Utilizing a new Repair Breakeven section on the Estimate Profile, you can now configure a Repair Breakeven Minimum Threshold percentage anywhere from 50% to 100%. Then when you add Repair labor lines to an Estimate, the Switch to R&R recommendations displays over Repair despite the percentage being less than 100%. By default, the minimum threshold stays at 100%.
An example is if you set the Repair Breakeven Minimum Threshold to 75%, the Breakeven Analysis will show anything below 75% as a green Keep as Repair and anything equal or above 75% is a Switch to R&R recommendation.

Estimate PDF
Display Emails on Part Vendor Information
The Estimate PDF and printout has been enhanced this release to display the Part Vendors' email address in addition to their physical address and phone numbers. After adding a populated alternate part from inside the Compare Alternate Parts window on the Parts tab of Mitchell Cloud Estimating, navigate to the PDF Preview tab. Scroll down to the Recycled Part Vendors section and see the associated vendor information such as physical address and phone numbers above the email address.
Note: For this feature to work, the email address must be provided by the Part Provider on the Compare Alternate Parts window.
Vehicle Information
Roof and Rollover Added to Damage Section of the Vehicle Page
With this release, the Damage sub-section on the Vehicle page of a Job in Mitchell Connect has been enhanced to include Roof as a point of impact on almost all vehicle types and not just some commercial vehicles.
Note: There are certain commercial vehicles that do not have a Point of Impact graphic and generic vehicles that do not have a Damage section for selection.
After manually decoding a vehicle on the Vehicle page of the job, scroll to the Damage sub-section. Depending on the vehicle decoded, the Point of Impact displays a Rollover section while the diagram and Diagram list on the right make the Roof selectable as a primary or secondary point of impact.
If the vehicle does not have a roof (motorcycle, ATV, scooter, snowmobile), then they only show the rollover option on the Points of Impact section and the diagram does not show Roof as a selection.

New Paintless Dent Repair Calculator Options for Hail Damage
The current PDR calculator distinguishes dents by size but, specifically for hail damage, the number of dents is what matters for the estimate and not size (dime, nickel, half-dollar). With this release for certain Canadian insurance companies, a new hail PDR Calculator is available Mitchell Cloud Estimating on the Paintless Dent Repair window.
You can now input the number of dents without having to specify their size through the Number of Oversized Dents field. Alongside that change, you can check whether or not the panel in question is Aluminum or not under the Additional Items section.
If the Repair Breakeven is enabled for the insurance company and the cost of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is higher than the cost of Remove & Replace (R&R), Mitchell Cloud Estimating recommends a switch to R&R for that panel.
