EMS or BMS Path Configuration and Troubleshooting
Estimate information is saved as an Estimate Management Standard (EMS) file or a Business Management Suite (BMS) file, depending on your estimating system.
These files allow you to share estimate information between your estimating system and Mitchell Connect.
You may need to set an EMS or BMS file path from Mitchell Connect to your estimating system the first time you do the following:
-
Download assignment information from Mitchell Connect to your estimating system.
-
Export your estimate from your estimating system to Mitchell Connect.
If you can't find an estimate and/or need to configure your EMS or BMS path, view the reference section below organized by estimating system and error message.
Important: Mitchell Connect does not require you to set the EMS path for UltraMate. Mitchell Connect locates estimates for UltraMate automatically.

Troubleshooting
If you cannot find your estimate (the No Estimates Were Found message appears), review the table to trouble shoot:
Reason/Issue | Solution |
---|---|
Your shop relies on a proxy server. | Contact your system administrator and instruct them to add an exception to Proxy Settings. |
You are looking at the estimate based on the date of your last supplement. The search uses the date you originally committed or locked the estimate. The estimate is older than the default 14 days used by the Date Range filter on the Estimate page. |
Change the date on the Date Range list on the Estimate page from the default 7 days to a longer time frame. |
You use CCC or ADP and the EMS export path is not listed in Mitchell Connect settings. |
|
The claim number is incorrect. | Review the claim number and make sure they match exactly. If they do not match, make the appropriate corrections in your estimating system. |
The EMS folder has too many EMS files. | Delete or move the contents of the EMS export folder(s). |
Review the instructions below if you attempt to add an estimate and receive the error message: Multiple Attempts to Find Your Estimate Were Not Successful.
Reason/Issue | Solution |

The RCEAPI.dll file is not up to date. See the solution instructions to verify the file is up date. |
Warning: If you are not familiar with locating and updating your RCEAPI.dll files, please contact technical support
|
You need to configure the EMS path. |
Warning: This only applies to CCC and ADP. Do not add UltraMate EMS paths to the Mitchell Connect configuration. Adding UltraMate EMS paths can cause unintended problems.
