Before You Get Started
Before you upload estimates, you must configure your estimating software to create export/review files. Most estimating software uses a standardized export format based on CIECA standards. After configuring your estimating software to create export/review files, you will want to complete, commit, and export your estimate for upload to the insurance company that sent you the appraisal assignment.
The non-network solution works best if you:
- Commit your estimate before uploading it.
- Know the location where your estimating program saves its estimates for export/upload.
- Export or save your estimates for upload in the default locations for your estimating system.
To use WorkCenter, your estimating program must export EMS (Estimating to Management System) files.
Note: Your shop may already be configured to export EMS files. Please write down the export path. You may need to go to this location when you upload your estimate.
